10 Authentic Hadith on Kindness

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “He who is deprived of kindness is deprived of goodness.” Source: Sahih Muslim

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “The believer is gracious, for there is no goodness in one who is neither kind nor friendly.” Source: Musnad Ahmad

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Shall I not tell you for whom the Hellfire is forbidden? It is every person accessible, polite, and mild.” Source: Sunan At-Tirmidhi

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “The best house among the Muslims is one which contains an orphan who is well treated, and the worst house among the Muslims is one which contains an orphan who is badly treated” Source: Ibn Majah

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Kindness is not to be found in anything but that it adds to its beauty and it is not withdrawn from anything but it makes it defective.” Source: Sahih Muslim

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Whoever relieves a believer’s distress of the distressful aspects of this world, Allah will rescue him from a difficulty of the difficulties of the Hereafter. Whoever alleviates [the situation of] one in dire straits who cannot repay his debt, Allah will alleviate his lot in both this world and in the Hereafter. Whoever conceals [the faults of] a Muslim, Allah will conceal [his faults] in this life and the Hereafter. Source: Sahih Muslim

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Whoever wishes to be saved from Hell and admitted into Paradise as desired, they should believe in Allah and the Last Day and treat other people the way they themselves would like to be treated.” Source: Sahih Muslim

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “A man suffered from thirst while he was walking on a journey. When he found a well, he climbed down into it and drank from it. Then he came out and saw a dog lolling its tongue from thirst and licking the ground. The man said: This dog has suffered thirst just as I have suffered from it. He climbed down into the well, filled his shoe with water, and caught it in his mouth as he climbed up. Then he gave the dog a drink. Allah appreciated this deed, so he forgave him.” They said, “O Messenger of Allah, is there a reward for charity even for the animals?” The Prophet said, “Yes, in every creature with a moist liver is a reward for charity.” Source: Sahih Bukhari

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Every Act of Kindness is Charity.” Source: Sahih Bukhari

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “None of you believes (completely) until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.” Source: Sahih Bukhari

God and His angels bless the Prophet – so, you who believe, bless him too and give him greetings of peace.

‎على ابراهيم وعلى ال ابراهيم
ʿalā Ibrāhīm wa ʿalā āli Ibrāhīm
𝐀𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐦 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐦l
‎أنك حميد مجيد
innaka ḥamīdun majīd
𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐲, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬.

‎اللهم بارك على محمد
Allāhumma bārik ʿalā Muḥammad
